We came into 2010 with an uncertain outlook for the retail market as predictions of a double dip recession and 3 year recovery were prevalent. As the year progressed, it became apparent that while the high street retailers were feeling the pain, e-retailers were holding steady (looking at year-on-year sales). By the time Q3 arrived, some e-retailers were reporting 15% growth in their turnover - although we suspect profits not quite as high due to squeezed margins as wholesale costs increased. On the whole, most e-retailers were happy to come out of 2010 having maintained turnover (year-on-year).
