The first quarter of any year is a great time to reflect on the year before and plan for the year ahead. This year, we're looking to expand our range of bath bombs to give you even more choice at Fuzzybuttons great prices.
We've spent weeks looking for, finding, smelling and testing and hope to launch these on Fuzzybuttons.com very soon.

More Snow!
After all the bad weather through December and January, we couldn't believe it when February brought even more sleet and snow and then high winds and lashing rain. We're guessing that like us, you used that as an excuse for lots more baths – just to get warm of course. We have to try out the bath bombs we sell – otherwise we wouldn't get to know the good ones.
We also used the time indoors to finally create a Fuzzybuttons presence on YouTube and move all the videos into one place!
Hopefully the cold weather is behind us and we can start looking forward to Spring. Tradition has March 21st as the first day of spring but usually our gardens start bursting forth much earlier. Spring means that he skies should be clearer, the temperature warmer, the winds less cold and blowing less often. Daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses should be helping us make the most of our gardens.

The Art of Scent Combining
One of the most fashionable trends of recent years is the practice of scent combining. A lot of column inches have been written in newspapers and magazines and many expensive scent houses make a lot of fuss about what is the most simple of concepts that most of us have been doing for years anyway.
It's as simple as choosing 2 or more fragrances to layer on your skin – usually from different formats. For example, you might use a rose smoothie in your bath and then a jasmine perfume. Or an orange bath bomb and a chocolate body butter.
Every fragrance that you use has a unique quality that challenges and tantalises the senses in it's own way – and don't forget that you have a fragrance too. What smells good on your best friend might not smell so good on you!
Many scents are known to complement each other through "common wisdom" (or cooking – look at cakes!): orange and lemon, champagne and chocolate, rose and jasmine, etc so there's plenty of inspiration if you don't know where to start.
Because the combinations are limited only by your imagination, you will always be able to create a fresh new scent for yourself whenever you like. Mix, match and layer bath bombs or salts or oils with moisturisers and / or colognes. Eventually you will settle on your favourite combinations and these will be your signature scents.
Easy when you know how isn't it?

Dont forget Mothers Day!
Mother's day, or Mothering Sunday as it is sometimes known, is a day celebrating mothers and motherhood. Traditionally the day was marked by the giving of token gifts and the relinquishing of certain traditionally female tasks such as cooking and cleaning to other members of the family as a gesture of appreciation.
We know that many Mothers use the opportunity to take a long hot bath – so why not show your Mum how much you care by treating her to one of our special bath bomb gift baskets.

Something a little different for Easter
Easter Eggs are usually specially decorated eggs given to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime because the egg was a symbol of the rebirth of the earth in Pagan celbrations of spring and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the rebirth.
We've taken Easter Eggs and given them a Fuzzybuttons bath bomb twist – so why not give your loved ones something different this Easter? One of our special bath bomb egg boxes!

Exploring the Scents
Stock take finished, list of possible scents to add made – it's time to talk to our suppliers to find out their plans for 2010. Hopefully this will involve many more products that we can share with you so if you've anything in mind that you think we've missed please let us know.
We're always pleased to help you find the perfect bath bombs to fit your style.
On a related note – we've learned our lesson from last year and won't be trying / testing / smelling more than 2 or 3 new fragrances a day. Any more and the nose gets confused and they all start to smell the same! Not helpful when you're choosing things for the shop…

Aromatherapy Baths
Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile plant materials, known as essential oils, and similar aromatic compounds from plants, for the purpose of improving a person's mood, cognitive function or health. There are many of these "essential oils" which are soothing and refreshing although it is important to note that as with any bioactive substance, an essential oil that may be safe for the general public could still pose hazards for pregnant and/or lactating women.
Aromatherapy has origins in antiquity - the use of infused aromatic oils and their healing properties were described by Dioscorides in his De Materia Medica which was written in the first century. The concept of aromatherapy as we know it was first mooted by a small number of European scientists and doctors, in about 1907 and in 1937, the word first appeared in print in a French book: Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles, Hormones Végétales by René-Maurice Gattefossé, a chemist. A French surgeon, Jean Valnet, pioneered the medicinal uses of essential oils, which he used as antiseptics in the treatment of wounded soldiers during World War II.
Using the bath as an innovative way of administering aromatherapy is becoming more popular than the traditional massage therapy as many of us use a hot bath as both a way to relax tired bodies and to relieve metal stresses. The scents of an aromatherapy bath directly seep into respiratory, skin and nervous system to help reduce problems like joint or muscle pain and PMS.
To maximize the benefits, add the drops of oil just before you enter the water and keep doors and windows of the room closed (even better if you have a shower curtain around your bath tub which can be drawn closed) to keep the steam vapours where they can be inhaled as you gently breathe. In addition, any bath oil containing Vitamin E can be added to your bath as you run it which will help keep the fragrance oil on the surface longer.
The soothing effects of this treatment will help you into a deep and restful sleep, allowing you to wake invigorated. (Although if it's a different kind of invigoration you have in mind, some oils can be used as an aphrodisiac.)
